Pith Helmet to Victorian Bonnet

A few weeks ago one of my daughter's classmates approached me and asked for my help in making a bonnet for her upcoming performance in Scrooge The Musical.  So we set about shopping at the thrift store. We purchased 3 of these:

and turned them into something like this:

The next post will detail how to make the bonnet.  Now Robin's looks a little different than the one pictured above (Victoria's).  That's the beauty of it.  You can customize the fit to you and your hairstyle a certain bit.

The next will be a bonnet for me.
